I attend CHS because it is the IB school in my district. At first, I was apprehensive at attending Concord because it is known as the bad school in my county. As soon as I arrived I knew that wasn't true. Concord is no worse than any of the other school in CabCo, if anything we are better. We are a family... we are SPIDERS!

If you are interested in the arts, foods, business, EMS/firefighter, etc., Concord has very good programs. But if you do not have interests in these career electives, it can be very difficult to fill a schedule.
There are also many options for advancing in electives of English, Math, Chemistry, etc.
The utilization of NCVPS is a plus as well.
As for social outlook, there is the very definitive "preppy" group or those who feel and act superior to others. Sometimes groups here can be very "cliquey"- you mainly have to find the people who aren't this way (as I have each year).
School is newly IB accredited and the program is still highly underdeveloped. Academics within the program are limited in terms of course selections. General academics outside of the program are unorganized and inconsistent. Disciplinary issues within the school and lack of knowledgeable staff. Because the school is a landmark within the county, preservation of school culture often takes precedent over the quality of education. Students are not prepared for college, and students in the IB program are left floundering as they tackle rigorous curriculum with little aid or planning from faculty.
