COVID-19 Update for Prospective Students and Families:

CEA offers students a hybrid approach to virtual learning through a balance between synchronous (face-to-face) and asynchronous (independent work) sessions for all grades from pre-school to 8th grade, while being mindful of the developmental ability to remain engaged during screen time per age and grade level, in conjunction with engaging assignments to extend their learning beyond the classroom. From Conchita Espinosa Academy

Conchita Espinosa Academy (CEA) is a co-educational independent private school for K3-8th grade. Since 1933, CEA has followed its founder's vision of education, which is designed to ignite students’ curiosity and encourage a love of learning. CEA offers students a strong academic foundation and immersion in the arts and humanities from an early age in an intimate environment that supports students’ development and helps them grow to become well-rounded, creative, and confident individuals.

CEA’s facilities, programs and curriculum are thoughtfully designed to meet the specific needs of each developmental stage from K3-8th grade, creating thinkers and doers prepared to thrive in the twenty-first century. Students prepare for the world through the development character and intellect, through experiential learning and exploration, and by cultivating integrity, kindness, and empathy in a culture of respect, social and self-awareness, and moral responsibility.

The Mastery Program at Conchita Espinosa Academy

The Mastery Program is a unique experience given to CEA students, which assigns specific learning periods devoted to allowing students to explore an area of interest or passion. As students learn and master new skills, they reinforce and enhance the connections they already have and develop self-awareness and confidence as they work towards the mastery of a particular area of interest.

My daughter recently began attending Conchita Espinosa Academy and we could not be happier. Not only is she being prepared well academically, but my wife and I feel that she is loved and supported as an individual. Despite her short time there, everybody knows her name and knows her as a human being. I was hesitant about the shift to online learning with COVID-19, but the school did an exemplary job at ensuring the kids were connected to their teachers and each other and continued their regular structure and schedule, including music, PE, dance, and Spanish, putting their health and safety first, but paying close attention to their mental and spiritual health also. The faculty has been great and the administration has been open in communicating with parents every step of the way. I would happily recommend this school!

CEA has been a second home for my family, and now my children. The support that the administration, faculty and staff provide their students in all areas is incomparable. CEA does not only provide an excellent academic foundation, but they offer students innumerable opportunities to find their unique voice, whether through their outstanding Arts curriculum, sports, mastery, or other programs. Every child feels loved and valued for who they are, and they leave with an excellent preparation for life. I highly recommend this school!
As a former student of CEA (c/o 2014), I can confidently say that it was the worst school I have ever been to. My parents regret their choice. It has been a fairly long time since I graduated from CEA, so I would not be able to fairly judge the school in its current state. However, judging from their most recent student handbook as well as the fact most of the teachers I considered to be actually amazing have left, I'd be willing to bet the school continues to be not worth the money. I have no idea if the teachers who replaced them are any good, so I will give them the benefit of the doubt. Also, I must note that this school did a horrible job at preparing me for high school. This partially being due to a systemic issue that results in many private schools not being as rigorous as their public counterparts. Nevertheless, I will stick by to my understanding that CEA is a complete scam for the amount of money you have to spend. You can get a MUCH better/cheaper education somewhere else!
