I have worked in several schools during my career and this one is top notch when it comes to preparing students for independent and fulfilling college and career experiences. The facilitators are the best in the business. They love their careers, their subject areas, and most of all, their students. They work tirelessly to ensure that all students reach high levels of success which is demonstrated by our graduation rate, go-on rate, GPAs, college acceptance, and yes - standardized tests. We believe not just in "teaching our students to fish," but also in providing the fishing poles. Effort, practice, and growth mindset make the difference.

Compass is a high school, it’s an amazing and diverse. People usually have a horrible idea that Compass is where the “preppy smart kids go to”, but that’s not true what so ever. You come into the school and you’ll never meet such amazing students. From the beginning of freshman year to the end of senior year you’ll be amazed at how mature and experienced each student is because of how Compass is. It’s project based so we learn so much more then what the average school has taught. I use to be this super shy angry teenager until I decide to go to Compass. I am not as shy anymore, I have people skills and I technology skills which both are major skills you need for life. I highly recommend Compass, it may not be for everyone but it’s always worth the try.
Overall it’s a great school and challenges your mind everyday. It’s made me come out of my shell, learn how to present correctly, manage my time, and is similar to college so it prepares me for my future. The teachers there are open and you can come talk with them regarding your grade easily. So far all my teachers have different ways of teaching and having me learn new skills in their classes. The reason I didn’t give full stars is that there aren’t many clubs, there isn’t TRIO opportunities, and there is a stigma regarding our school. However we have grade level meetings that make us in charge of what we want happen to our culture or our school in general. And that’s a great way to include everyone’s opinions.
