Community Prep Charter School Reviews

I started Community Prep my senior year of high school. At the time, I was 20 credits behind and unlikely to graduate from a traditional public school. With community prep's unique and individualized schedules and plans I was able to graduate on time. They offer numerous opportunities to travel, learn real-world experience, and learn how to love school again. I couldn't have finished high school without the amazing staff and faculty at Community Prep.

I had an ok experience with Community Prep. This school is considered self paced, which can be very helpful. When having different learning styles or a complicated home life, and many other factors this school is helpful. Being an alternative school I was not given homework, attendance was not taken, and there were no grades. A student either passes or fails the class. When I was in highschool this all sounded great. I was able to fall behind without being punished, but I was also able to work ahead and I graduated early. When college came around though I realized that my highschool had no structure and did not prepare me for anything. The school needs discipline, more structure, and real learning goals. The flexibility is great, but there is a difference between a flexible school and one wihtout any rules at all.
