This is more of an alternative school. It's for students who aren't doing so well or don't fit in a normal classroom setting. There is a process you must go through to get into the school. You must write a paper to the school of why you should be accepted. The classrooms are much smaller, giving teachers the opportunity to pay more individual attention to students. There is not a variety of classes, like medical and what not. They're geared more towards getting high risk students the minimum to graduate. The school day is a bit shorter, 9 am to 2pm. They have a daycare and a club I believe for young mothers. My boyfriend actually got involved in a program through the school in which they offered him employment as long as he was attending school, he worked at big lots for the remainder of the school year. It's really a great school for students who need help staying on track.
This school is really awesome. It is an alternative school. Anyone who isn't going to graduate at their other school will come here and they will excel in their learning. The teachers here really do care about their students and their learning. If I stay in this area my whole life, I'll be sending my kids to this school for their education when they reach high school.
It's a very small but diverse school. I loved the shorter school days. I would go to this school again if I had the opportunity to go back because I fit in there, and they do they're best to make you want to graduate.
