Community Day School is a nurturing, academically excellent Jewish day school for the 21st century. From early childhood through middle school, we inspire our students to love learning through innovative teaching methods and hands-on discovery. CDS is a welcoming community where Pittsburgh families who span the spectrum of Jewish belief and practice can learn and connect along with their children. Moving to CDS was the absolute best move for my daughter and our whole family. CDS's approach to teaching the whole child, providing enriching and challenging lessons while encouraging students to flourish in a safe, kind and positive environment, has been such a wonderful experience for us! Nothing makes me happier as a mother, and an educator, as the continuous growth that I see in her - academically, socially, emotionally and mentally. From the first day, the staff was welcoming, supportive and patient. We love the transparency and communication provided by the teachers and the school as a whole. The needs of all students are met with grace, kindness and compassion. The positive school culture creates a space where students can grow and learn academically. My only regret is not having her begin her educational journey with CDS from day one!

Review Community Day School

We are so glad to have chosen CDS! Our child has some special needs and CDS has been willing to work with us every step of the way. They support are son and have a flexible environment that meets his needs! I am so impressed with how they have handled the pandemic, I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else. This isn’t just a school - it is a community that has enveloped arms (socially distanced!).

I have 2 children at Community Day School. I've been a parent there for 4 years. Our experience has been stellar. My children are academically challenged in a nurturing setting. My daughter once articulated to me that one reason she enjoys school is because she gets to use her imagination there. I was so thrilled to hear that she can tap into her imagination in a rigorous academic setting! My son struggles more socially and emotionally. CDS has been a wonderful partner to us with this. CDS's smaller class sizes, caring teachers, engaged administration, and the growth mindset philosophy have led our son to many successes. My husband and I feel a huge amount of gratitude to CDS for all this and more that it offers our children. We also feel a great deal of trust in the CDS administration based on what we've seen in its ability to curate curriculum, experiences, and community. At CDS, we feel we have a strong partner in raising our children to become adults we are proud of.
