There are very few things that I can write positively about Commerce High School. To me the highlight of the school are a few of the teachers who are there only for the students. Because they really do care about the students. The few that do care are willing to help the student even if it means tutoring on the weekends or even just moving the test by a day so the students have extra time to study. To me this is the best part about Commerce HIgh School.
One way to improve the school would have to better funding and finding and hiring teachers who actually care about teaching the students. Since there are a few teachers who just don't care and make the learning experience horrible for students who have to take their classes. That is how I would like the school to be improved.

Most teachers genuinely care for their students, however there are some teachers, who care about other students more than the others. The overall quality of their teaching is somewhat bearable. For the most part they know what they are teaching about. However all things considered they are teaching towards a state-mandated test. These tests only hinder not only the children but the teacher's ability to teach the material effectively. Some times its hard to understand what they mean when they are teaching. I have had great teachers who made the class enjoyable. I have also had teachers who made the class more difficult then it had to be.
My favorite thing about this school was the feeling that I was apart of something. I played softball for four years, I have been in band since sixth grade and I also run track. While being apart of these organizations I felt as if we were all working to reach a common goal. My favorite experience was my freshman year when our softball team went to regionals even though as a freshman I only played one varsity game. I still remember the feeling I got when one of my teammates got on base or scored, we were playing against the second best team in the state of Oklahoma and we winning too. Until our best pitcher caught a line driver right back at her and hit her right in her pitching hand. After that happened she continued to pitch the rest of the game. Although we did not advance to state, it was still an amazing experience. Then my sophomore year for track my coach decided we were going to run the two mile relay and because I am a long distance runner, I was chosen to be third leg. We did fairly well at our first track meet and it only improved from there. By the time districts rolled around we were good. I'll never forget how nervous I was as Xiomara passed me the baton and as I was heading around the curve, I knew that I had to kick it if I wanted to win. So I pushed myself and my vision started to blur as I round the bend to begin my second lap; I could hear dasyi, the first leg of the relay, scream

"Pick it up, keep pushing you can catch her." and with that I believed I could so I sped up and I ran so fast I caught the girl in fourth place then I passed. After that I sprinted as fast as I could to the finish line and passed the baton off to the last leg of our relay. She took off then she ran her first lap faster than I ran mine caught the girl in third and sprinted her second lap and we yelled for her. As she crossed that finish line we ran to her and dog piled her right their on the field screaming, "We are going to state, We are going to state."
