Being a student at Commack High School, I have seen and heard many conversations, stories, lessons, and interactions that associate with happy and not so happy memories. High School is supposed to be some of the greatest years of your life and I can confidently agree with that. Over the years, I was able to find my interests and see establish my strengths and weaknesses. The quality of my education is incomparable and it was easy to initiate positive relationships with the teachers and other students. We are a very school-spirited school and always go above and beyond to make everyone feel comfortable and included. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 my high school years were choppy but it is wonderful that for my final year we have returned to normalcy.
As a graduating senior this year, here are my thoughts on the school.
The teachers were by far the best part of the school. Not only with how they teach, but with how they help. They made it incredibly easy to simply email your teacher and they will almost always give you support, and even give private tutoring sessions if you get lost and are struggling on the topic. They do their best to make lessons as interesting as possible, and I really appreciate it. Shoutout to Dr. Cicione. If you somehow see this, I thought you were the greatest teacher I've ever had.
The parts I didn't like about the school was the building itself. It feels pretty bland, almost like a prison. Compared to the middle school in the same district which was built only a few years apart, it looks a lot better and cleaner. Almost every classroom here has a crack in the walls. I have an allergy (Celiac) and although they promised me good food options, cross-contamination was a problem and I kept getting sick.

Commack High School has many advanced classes that offer duel enrollment and many different types support for students. The teachers are very knowledgeable about what they teach and the staff are helpful for students. There are many different clubs and sports for all types of interests. Some clubs help out with bigger community events. The school has a point system that requires students to participate in school activities and community service if they want to graduate. The school itself is big but very well organized. There are many different events that students can participate in like The Halloween Happenings and the Homecoming Parade. The cafeteria has many options and there are vending machines with lots of great choices. There is lots of aid for the college application process and scholarships.
