Combs High School, a school where teachers scold you for asking questions and where Asians are less than %1 of the general population. Roughly %20 of students per grade level pass their finals. School violence threats are made monthly. With poor communication and false information being spread from the administration, the schools value starts to deteriorate. Of course though, there are a few teachers and perks that stand out. But the bad overwhelms the good.

In my time at Combs high school, I have truly had a wonderful experience. I have loved every day of my high school career and I have had many teachers that genuinely care about my success. I do believe Combs is an underrated school, and I do believe there is lots of potential for greatness at Combs. And I think that that our greatest mistake would be to compare Combs to other schools, and to attempt to mimic as they do, as we so often do. I believe we should be leaders and not followers, but that’s just my opinion.
Through the music program and teachers here at Combs I have really been able to make the most of my high school experience. Combs provides many opportunities for success on and off campus. Learning how to become a better percussionist from my knowledgeable instructors has led me to be able to perform in Regional and All-State ensembles. For many other students, I know they have benefited from the sports coaches who have helped them make it to state competitions. I have learned a vast amount of information from my AP teachers and regular level classes that make me feel prepared for my college experience that will begin in the fall.
