Loved this school! The teachers cared about the students and taught us well. The school was always clean and the school was very welcoming to new students. My two years there was very good. I was in the cosmetology program. I had ms. Neal as my teacher, she was very hands on and friendly. She taught me so much my junior year. Our senior year was more laid back and a lot of testing and getting ready for our state boards. Overall would recommend Columbus downtown high school!

The atmosphere was very fresh and focused. All the students that attend(ed) this school were focused on their academics and future plans. The environment was very safe and was even located right next to a fire station. Students were kind, welcoming and non-judgemental as the school only had Juniors and Seniors. Unfortunately, there were no advanced classes offered which was detrimental to some students including myself. Although you’re able to do dual enrollment and attended Columbus community college which was less than 5 minutes from the school. The career classes were very helpful and prepared you well for whatever field you’d chosen. They also offered experience and made students more well rounded. There were also no clubs or activities offered as this was a career center usually around 15-30mins away from students’ homes.
Downtown is a Career-tech HS that provide a lot for there student. Making sure they got all their Career-Tech hours and graduation credit done. Also it provide for there student future, helping them with college essay and scholarships.
