Proud graduate of Columbus Catholic.

Pros: Catholic Education, Ability for everyone to participate in Sports due to no-cut teams and being in a weak conference in the lowest Division of athletics. Small class sizes (25 per grade) allow one on one time, dedicated teachers. Enthusiastic alumni.

Cons: Small class sizes and low enrollment limit class offerings, especially college prep and Advanced Placement courses. Felt a little behind my first semester in college. Not many sports are offered, and forced to coop with public schools at times. Tuition costs took a hit on my college savings.

Love my school and was able to practice my faith and participate in sports.

Columbus is a college preparation school, therefore the required courses are essential for the students' futures. Also, 30% of the faculty and staff have masters degrees, which is simply a confirmation that highly qualified professionals are in contact with students every day. Furthermore, the scheduling process is quite easy and the guidance counselor is available if any student has questions that arise.
Columbus' class schedule is based on a 10 period day, which provides an adequate amount of opportunities for students to take more electives. Lastly, 28 credits are required to graduate, which is significantly higher than other high school 's average graduation requirements.

My high school prepared me in many manners for college life and academia. The most prominent of these was having a set list of study strategies. This provided me with options to implement for various college classes and situations. Also, my high school taught me how to interact and collaborate in a professional manner with others, whether in a situation where i may agree or disagree with those in the group.
I didn't feel ready for the "real world" after graduating high school because I was still trying to become a more well-rounded and independent person, while simultaneously trying to decide what my life's career should be. This is a big decision for a young adolescent who has not given the subject much thought.
Regardless of feeling uneasy after graduation, I am now a successful college student in the field of music education and holding a GPA of 3.35. I have been able to go above and beyond academically and have proven that I am able to hold a position of leadership successfully--as the president of the Oshkosh Collegiate Music Teachers Association (OCMTA).
