Columbine is such a unique high school in that they dealt with such a horrible tragedy in 1999. This incident brought the community together. I was only two when it happened. I know many of the teachers in the building were either students at that time and came back to teach at Columbine , or felt a deep connection to the school. I am so proud to have gone to such an amazing school. I participated in so many things that made my four years fly by. This is one of the safest school around, and yet normal. People watch out for each other on and off campus. Growing up , Friends would ask me where I was going to go to high school, as everyone open enrolls these days, I said Columbine of course! I always wanted to be a Rebel.
Columbine Highschool has numerous clubs, sports, student organizations, and activities for any interest and the administration is always open to new start-ups that students are passionate about. The majority of the teachers at Columbine are alumni or community members who go above and beyond to help their students in and outside of the classroom. Student culture is also focused on being inclusive and involved in one way or another eliminating cliques and most bullying. If there is an issue, students can always talk to their peers, a teacher, a counselor, administrator, or campus security for a solution. Campus security is also involved and active in communicating with the student body to ensure student safety. I can't say enough about how great this school is.
Columbine is the most amazing highschool. Teachers are very connected with the the students and everyone is family. It's a community like no other and when people visit out assemblies they are blown away by our passion and energy. We have some extremely intelligent students who I know are going to make a difference in this world and I believe they have Columbine to thank for helping them become who they are. Also, despite what some may think, it's probably one of the safest schools in the country. I feel safer at columbine than any where else. Overall, I wouldn't want to attend anywhere else.
