The Columbine community is extremely welcoming. They make you feel like you are apart of a family, once you are a rebel, you are a rebel for life. Columbine has a wonderful principle who truly cares about his students, especially throughout the pandemic. He is extremely supportive of every student and is very involved in all of the schools clubs, sports, fundraisers, and activities. The more involved you are with the school, the better the experience is. There is so many school activities to join and they are all welcoming to every student. Columbine is a great school all around and I am so lucky to be apart of the community.
As a recent graduate I am able to say that Columbine High School is my family. It has created a real sense of community for me. As a student I have always felt cared for and important. Education is a high priority for me and Columbine has been the perfect environment to prepare me for college both academically and socially. I was able to play sports and maintain a good GPA with teachers and coaches that cared about my success. The principle is amazing and very involved with the student body. As a school, Columbine strives to help students become good citizens by promoting volunteerism and they help coordinate opportunities to serve the community. The student body is committed to the school as shown through participation in sporting events, involvement in extracurricular activities and supporting other students.
At Columbine High School, I felt included. Between the community's support for academics, athletics, and community service, I felt that my school really invested in a greater good that I didn't really see anywhere else around me. Personally, I generally felt connected to all of my teachers and a lot of students. There were several instances where our principal and teachers actively advocated and encouraged inclusion between students. At this year's homecoming assembly, our principal challenged all of the students to meet five new people that we otherwise wouldn't have met, encouraging everyone to go out of their way to interact with someone they probably never would have. I am proud to have been included in the Columbine family.
