Overall, Columbian High School is a good school to get your degree. The building and most of the equipment is a little outdated, but the staff (for the most part) are well-educated, intelligent, and care about their students. Some of the classes are not very informative or worth taking, but the AP classes offered are great.
I liked how the school had business classes. However, the school should accommodate more learning programs into their schooling.
I really enjoyed my time at Columbian. The staff was great and very helpful, there is a great variety of courses to choose from, and the open lunches is a huge plus.
As a student I am very involved in the school. I feel very connected to my amazing teachers and very challenged by the academics. I also participated in clubs and varsity sports which were very organized and well ran.
I really enjoyed my time at Columbian. Like any other school it does have it's issues, but overall it was a very good environment.
I wish the schools offered more Advanced Placement courses. However, I really appreciated the amount of Advanced Placement already offered.
Columbian was a good school and had some great staff. Always felt very safe when I was there. There were a few things that I did not care for but every high school student will find something they don't like in high school.
Columbian is a great school with amazing teachers. Columbian is very family based within sports and academics. The way the whole school and community supports the students with their athletic achievements and academic achievements makes Columbian students proud. High school at Columbian wasn’t extremely stressful because we have an amazing staff that will help you with any problems you are going through.
The teachers, for the most part, are very average. There are a select few teachers that I've had that have a genuine interest in what they teach and the students they teach. The school only cares about football, in my opinion, females sports are discriminated against and don't get funding like the football team, or other male sports get.
My experience in the last 4 years at Columbian have ben pretty good. Overall I would say that it has gotten me college ready.
This is a great sized school. It is not too big and not too small. I really like that it's easy to go places from the school. There is not too much chaos after school either.
As a student, my experience has been absolutely awful. The staff doesn't particularly care about the students at the school and really are only there for a pay check. Students are given almost zero guidance.
Some of the positive things about Columbian generate around extracurricular activities. The Music teachers are all amazing at their jobs and jus amazing people n general. And most of the sports programs have found coaching in recent years that have helped improve records. As far as teachers of rudimentary classes though, Columbian is lacking greatly. Many of the subject departments only have one or two good teachers, out three or four. Most of the teachers don't line up what their teacher to what the other teachers are teaching for the same class and so some students are at disadvantage in their education.
Tiffin Columbian High School is my old high school that I attended and graduated from, I was the only deaf student but everyone at the high school were very friendly towards me and treated me as like I am one of them. The environment is very positive as well the academics is solid, I enjoyed attending the high school and I miss the high school now that I attend an University.
I would like to teachers spend a little more one on one time with students. The sports facility is great, but the stadium is getting old and in need of repairs. Lots of surrounding schools use the stadium so it would benefit the entire community.
I am currently a senior at Columbian High School, I also take CCP courses through Tiffin University. I truly feel that Columbian never prepared me for college class and the expectations that are set during the classes. One reason why I liked Columbian was because the teachers were always willing to give you extra help. I am the type of person who asks many questions when I don't understand something, this was a great benefit having teacher willing to put in extra time to help you. If I was able to change one thing about Columbian is the college expectations. The teachers need to prepare you more for the outside world not just do a lesson out of a book. Overall Columbian has had a impact on my life.
Overall, Tiffin Columbian is a pretty good school. I never felt unsafe while I was attending there. The school sporting events were always a good time. Mr. Monsour and Mrs. Gardner are the only teachers who really got students college ready.
