Columbia height is diverse school with lots of students from different backgrounds all joining together in one building. The school itself is getting renovations and looking cleaner, with next year money coming in, the school will greatly improve. Everyone here is nice and friendly in their own way, I love this place. Go Heights!
I enjoyed my time at Columbia Heights Senior High School. I felt very safe with my Deans, if I needed to talk to someone they were always there for me. My teachers where always there after class, especially the AP teachers. They have sessions after class to learn more about the concept and food, to make the students focus on homework. My school takes education very seriously, with their school motto "Keep it Real"! They are always trying to cheer as on, telling us that we can keep on going. Always being understanding of our circumstances. Another thing that I liked about my school was the extra curricular activities they had. From sports to cultural or band groups. Making everyone feel loved or belonged. Something I liked about my school is how sincere my Deans were for each year trying to talk to us and ask how we are doing. We would talk about grades to family problems. I wouldn't change anything from my school with my professors but maybe have different variety of food options.
What I like about Columbia Heights is the communication and involvement I have with everyone especially my teachers and social worker because they have taught me the right from wrong since it took me a while to open up to them. I was a introvert person but I decided to talk and open up to others so I can grow from what I have been struggling with and so far it has been a beautiful experience not only for me but for everyone else that has a career planned ahead. For a while, I have been struggling with communication and it has really affected me mentally because it was hard for me to deal with people's responses. I am thankful for the community at Columbia Height High school! All the hard work and effort has paid off and I am proud of learning from all the mistakes I have done throughout high school.
