Colton High School is a rural school with very few students. Many people from surrounding districts have transferred to Colton in order to escape the bullying and discrimination they find in larger schools. However, Colton does have its own problems much like anywhere else. The school has a very limited budget and therefore cannot afford to have many elective or pay for higher-end programs. Although, the teachers that Colton has chosen have a very good background in the subjects they teach, they are not given the budget to teach students using kinetic learning because they cannot purchase those materials most of the time. Also, extracurricular activities that would keep children well engaged in the classroom are very limited. Most clubs a larger school supports do not exists because the staff is short and they cannot afford to hire another member or provide necessary equipment for individual groups.
Some of my favorite people are the teachers at my school. They work hard and put in a lot of effort to help me learn, grow, and succeed.
Overall, a great experience at Colton High School! A small school gives you lots of opportunity to grow and learn. There is a more one-on-one student teacher involvement, which helps you succeed and they know you more a a person.
