Collinwood had its ups and downs but I had the best high school years there. I want to do it again. The teachers there really cared about teaching us, they cared about our wellbeing and what we had planned for the future. Although the school has many stereotypes and is not very appealing (look wise) I loved it there. Teachers and administrators made it a priority to make the school feel like home. I’m getting home sick now.
This is my final year being a collinwood high school student and the overall expirence was the greatest! I’m going to miss the teachers and other staff members who go out of their way to help me and everyone else. I love being a part of this school and I am forever grateful of the memories and lessons I have received.
I like that most of the teachers really care about you. To the point where you will end up feeling like you have another family. At the end of it you can tell that most of staff wants the best for you and genuinely want you to succeed. I dont like however, how disorganized the school is. You'll often find yourself getting notified last minute to events and important news and it leaves you feeling out of the loop 90% of the time. Also there aren't much activities within the school to be apart of.
I went to Collinwood High School for four years, my experience their was incredible. Teacher went out their ways to make sure students was up to date on all their work. They made sure that if you needed help you could all was ask them. Some teachers even did afterschool programs to help students who did not understand the work. The principal are also active in the students life making sure they are doing everything they need to be on track. I don't think anything should change about Collinwood High School.
Collinwood High School is a good school. Somethings that need to change are the bathrooms. The bathrooms does not have soap dispensers. They have bars of soap that everyone touches in order to wash their hands. Their are no signs above the bathrooms that say whether its a male or female bathroom. Overall the teachers are excellent at doing their jobs and be active in the students learning experience.
I want collinwood to have more diversity, clubs, and better high quality food. Overall it's a very cool place to come learn with a lot of college advisers help. There is also a lot of ogt, sat, and act prep going on there.
Collinwood has lovely staff and students. Collinwood is a big school with about 300 students and deserves many more! Walking into school everyday brings a smile to my face. The staff truly cares and wants to prepare you for life. I feel safe in my school, the security is amazing. Also, due to location many students are underprivileged and the school offers so many helpful resources. The issues with Collinwood are, it is an old building and so it lacks in heating and air conditioning.
The classes are pretty manageable but the students can get out of hand at points.
The parents are very great and is involved in all activities.
Most teachers use topics that relate to the students which is great. Some don't try as hard as other teachers.
The coaches here want to better us as players and people. They put their all into teaching us and they make us commit and work hard to achieve the common goal which is winning.
The parents care about all the students even the ones that are not theirs. They come to the school to make breakfast for us sometimes and they put together little outings for us.
The teachers like do what help the students learn best. These real life examples and other things that we like to help us learn and understand the concept easier.
There are a lot of factors that make this school unique. One is throughout the semester there are always tables set up in the student center for you to engage and learn new things. They give you the opportunity to apply and join organization you may have not known about because you are unfamiliar with the campus website. They also offer a lot of programs and voluntary work. I would choose this school again because everyone takes there time out to make sure their is an activity, program or group to fit every individual. Also you have so many people supporting and motivating you to be a part of a new experience. Finally i would choose this school again because i was able to be a part of a program that help me grow and that i truly love. That program was the American Reads Program.
All of my teachers have gone above and beyond to make sure i understand the material. There also available anytime i email them or need help. They great teaching methods and how they break the work down for you to learn.
There isn't many health resources, the nurse is barely ever here, this school is dirty.
The activities are very average
