Do you want your hopes and dreams crushed? Then go to Collins Hill! Your academic teachers are either really good or really bad. The math teachers have been good so far, but their technology teachers are really bad. They stick incompetent people in the positions. They say great teachers can make you figure out what you want to do in life, but bad teachers can do the opposite. If your in your favorite subject, and you have a horrible teacher, they can make you question everything and hate that subject. That's what Collins Hill does. Their STEM program is a joke and insult to anyone who joins it.

Collins Hill High School is a great environment for those who like to learn, such as myself. If you're not in the gifted program, this is not the best place to go to school. Fights break out quite often in the standard classes. There are kids known to use drugs here, involve themselves in inappropriate behavior, and so on. The culture here is excellent because oh how the school comes together at football games and our school is over 50% minority. Great place to go for the gifted program, yet not the best place for standard kids. There are a lot of clubs to join, including Beta Club, National Honor Society, and Key Club. Lots of volunteer opportunities! If you need something from administration, you have to put your foot down and clearly state that you need help.
The only downsides to Collins Hill High are things that come with public schools. The desks are a little worn out, most of the computers were designed to run Vista (although we are supposed to get some new ones soon), and there are one or two students who aren't always rule-abiding. Aside from that, everything is very nice. Almost all of the staff I've met treat the students more like co-workers rather than students. The halls and rooms are kept clean and secutiry of the building got boosted with new door security systems and more campus police. Culture in Collins Hill is fantastic. I've met students that moved from Russia less than 4 years ago, students who moved from South Korea very young, and students who come from California to Georgia. Although not too important to me, the school does have some regional championships under their belt with several sports and after-school activities to choose from. As our principal says, "It's a good day to be an Eagle."
