Collegiate Charter School of Lowell Reviews

I have been with the Collegiate Charter School of Lowell, or CCSL, for five years and I am now a freshman. Since the school is still very new, the high school building is still under construction. Besides learning temporarily in the middle school building, I think our system is very advanced. I like the way our school prepares us for college and teaches the concepts with the SABIS point system. I also like the Student Life Organization, or SLO. Students can get involved in things from peer tutoring to planning sports events to writing the school newspaper. What I would change about CCSL though, is the pacing and how the SABIS point system is required. At times the point system can be too fast paced for some and not the style of teaching some teachers are used to. Since the teachers are required to use the SABIS system, it can be very repetitive and tiresome. But overall, I think CCSL is a very good school and helps prepare me for college.

CCSL is an up and coming k-10 public charter school which is still trying to find its identity. You have some very dedicated staff but there is also a lot of turnaround. It will be interesting to see how the addition of a new high school will impact things.
