Collegiate Charter School of Lowell Reviews
Rating 4 out of 5 7 reviews
What I like about the school is that it has a rigorous curriculum that prepares students for college. The academics are more advanced than what you would get at most schools, so students are challenged more. The teachers are also very nice and do a good job teaching the material, and are easy to reach out to if you need help. The school is also very diverse with many students coming from different nationalities. A few things I'd like to see change are I'd like to see more clubs for students to join since I feel there are not as many extracurriculars as there should be, and I hope the food quality improves since I am not a very big fan of it. In general, the school is pretty good for someone who wants to be prepared for college and it has a nice community that'll make you feel welcomed.
I have been with the Collegiate Charter School of Lowell, or CCSL, for five years and I am now a freshman. Since the school is still very new, the high school building is still under construction. Besides learning temporarily in the middle school building, I think our system is very advanced. I like the way our school prepares us for college and teaches the concepts with the SABIS point system. I also like the Student Life Organization, or SLO. Students can get involved in things from peer tutoring to planning sports events to writing the school newspaper. What I would change about CCSL though, is the pacing and how the SABIS point system is required. At times the point system can be too fast paced for some and not the style of teaching some teachers are used to. Since the teachers are required to use the SABIS system, it can be very repetitive and tiresome. But overall, I think CCSL is a very good school and helps prepare me for college.
Great learning experience, but it’s almost like your a prisoner. There’s little focus on sports, so if that’s important to you find another school. But, if your main goal is to get educated your definitely at the right place.
