Colfax High School Reviews
Rating 3.53 out of 5 19 reviews
Colfax High School has security cameras, and locked doors where you are required to push a button for an intercom to be approved to go into the school.
There are a variety of extracurricular activities at Colfax high school. The clubs include: National Honors Society, Science Olympiad, Student Council, Future Farmers of America, Future, Business Leaders of America, FCCLA, and FCA. There are many sport options such as softball, baseball, basketball, football, weight lifting, track, cross country, and volleyball. Most students participate in the sports and more support by the administration is given to sports.
I would not choose Colfax high school if I could do it all over again because it is very small. Colfax high school concentrates on sports. Students who are in sports are treated better than those who are not. If you are not in a sport, you are not popular and it is hard to make friends. If I could do it all over again I would choose a bigger school that had more opportunities for other organizations than sports.
Not much to choose from
I was not at this school long but they all seemed very friendly and willing to help if your struggling
We don't even have a room for a school nurse. If someone is injuried it is usually the teachers helping the student getting cleaned up. We do practice the fire drill alot but we have never practiced if there was a bomb threat or if someone did have a gun what would we do. The teachers do always have to have there doors locked but it really is an inconvience to everyone.
Don't get me wrong must of the teachers do go above and beyond what they should do they run orginizations and they put in long hours. Some teahcers however arn't the most helpful when you do have a question they don't ever really help you.
I think that there should be more extracurriculars. All of the same kids are in all of the extracurriculars so there arn't a lot of people participating. We don't have any unquie clubs there all basic like all of the othere schools. The administration supports the clubs a lot and help with whatever the clubs may need.
The office staff is amazing they are always there to help you and they are always cheerful. They also now everybodies names. There is a no bullying policy.
I personally don't eat the school lunches. They do offer fruits and vegetables and instead of getting the main meal you can get just a large salad. Of course the students favorite foods is pizza and nuggets the most unhealthiest foods. Usually you have to grab a few napkins on pizza day because you do get a lot of grease out of the pizza.
They always offer the general classes that people must take. They also offer easier classes to the people that will need more help if they need it. They do offer Ap/honors classes. Any student can take the extracericular h classes, although they don't offer many different types.
Just like any other school there is peer pressure, but if you ever feel like you need help you can go to a teacher and they do there best to help you. Colfax doesn't have problems with racial or sexual diversity we all accept each other. The biggest challenges in school is maintaining your grades. Colfax does a good job of helping people when they need help or when they ask for it.
They have a awsome fitness teacher.
This school is very advanced on there education.
