My time at Cold Spring Harbor certainly prepared me for college with the challenging academics and the high level of accountability that teachers required of you. In terms of overall environment and diversity, the school and the surrounding community certainly was lacking. The diversity rate is ~4%, meaning that only 4% of the student body identifies with a minority race. Additionally, the town and its students are too often all consumed by their overall image and flaunting their high financial status.

I loved Cold Spring Harbor. There are very small classes so your teachers get to know everyone and how they learn. Very small district, so you're with the same people from k to 12. A wide array of sports teams and acitvities after school, and an outstanding arts program.
There are a very small number of teachers who know absolutely nothing, pick on specific students, and are unfair graders, but the majority are great people and extremely knowlegable about the topic they are teaching, very approachable, easy to talk to, and are always easy to get extra help from.
