Magruder has been a thrilling experience. It is a lot smaller than other schools in the county so it was nice to get more one on one time with the teachers who really cared about how the students were doing mentally and academically. The activities were fun and created a sense of togetherness, we did things like the battle of the classes, float, and powderpuff which really brought our classes together and created a friendly competition. We had fundraisers from selling baked goods to the mulch sale where students genuinely wanted to contribute too. We had really helpful programs like ACES that helped us figure out what we want in the future and how to work towards it. One thing I would say needs to improve is the building itself. I believe the size of the school and the number of students don't go well together, it's very packed to the point where it gets difficult to get around. Overall, my experience at Magruder High School was memorable.
Magruder High School offers options for all students attending, opening doors of opportunity for each young learner. For every will, there is a way - the high school provides courses and programs for all students, extraordinarily tending to the needs of advanced scholars in a unique PEAC Academy, and others seeking professional advancement in medical fields, military involvement, and aviation. Alongside a thriving drama program, and a widespread, well-managed, and talented sports programs, Magruder is an excellent school for students seeking self growth and personal exploration and provides outstanding opportunities through such clubs and programs.
As a student of Magruder High School, I can say that it is one of those school where not everyone is as motivated as you are, but if you find the right people, right activities, and right connections, then Magruder High School goes from a small public school founded during the 1970's to a welcoming and great environment to be a part of. Go Colonels!
