Going here has been such an awesome experience! I love being a part of the small student body and “bronco family”. I've greatly enjoyed the teachers and curriculum here and the WIDE range of opportunities. Something you think would be scare at a smaller school...however CUHS offers positions in several clubs: Earth Club, Welding Club, Ski and Snowboard Club, Kindness Club, Interact Club, California Scholarship Federation, Cyber Patriot Team, an awesome FFA Club, and so much more! Also, I have been a prominent leader on campus by being involved in Associated Student Body which has been aa experience full of opportunity and growth. Finally, the amount of support from the surrounding community - Cambria - is truly astonishing. Over $100,000 in scholarships are offered to small graduating classes (mine being 39). Allowing kids to get financial aid for college. I feel that Coast Union has fully prepared and equipped me for the rest of my life and I couldn't be more appreciative of that.

Overall I have found CUHS to create an enjoyable learning experience. The majority of the staff and teachers are friendly and open to helping in any way they can. From an extra curricular standpoint, Coast is relatively average. Our sports teams are competitive, but unfortunately due to the school's small size, we aren't able to have the full variety of sports that I, personally, would enjoy. The drama department is decent and has put on exceptional productions for the past couple of years. However, due to over participation by several parents, the department has moved from the realm of theater drama into that of real drama. As for changes to CUHS, I would only have one which would be to increase the opportunity for students to take advanced and/or specialty classes.
There are a few main clubs such as Drama, eARTh, Kindness, Interact, FNL, and CSF but other than these no more come to mind. The officer positons the clubs hold are pretty flaky, the students just do it for the title and as resume builders without the expereince. However, this past year the advisors began to crack down on the students a little more. Clubs such as Drama and Interact are the most organized when it comes to meeting procedures, getting things done, and participation. Other clubs move very slowly and it's just the president or advisor that does the dirty work.

ASB is a curricular class and is hated by the majority of the student body but it's slowly chaning. Because we're a small school, we aren't funded as well as bigger schools therefore making our budgets for small things extremely small. Being in ASB for two years I've noticed a small handful of students in ASB actually to the work, the rest are, again, doing it to build their resumes and play games on their iPads in class.

Overall, it's pretty chill. You have the power to change what the club becomes or making your own club.
