I like the people, staff, small school, and campus. For the most part, the environment has been comforting and friendly. Although, what I would like to see change is a few of the staff members who have chosen to ignore students' needs. Some have even been openly racist, homophobic, and transphobic, whether it be while in school or outside of school.
The classroom environment was always engaging and the teachers expressed genuine concern and care for each student. With a small student body, it was easy to get close to everyone. Faculty included! Being given the opportunity to earn a 2 year degree while in Highschool also has allowed me to expand my options for further education right out of highschool.
I have had an amazing experience at Cleveland Early College High School. From the first day of my freshman year, I knew that this was a place that I would be accepted and supported through everything. This school has helped me grow both academically and as a person. The classes are led by wonderful teachers who take the time to get to know each student. They use the expeditionary learning approach well and make sure that no class is ever boring. We were rarely asked to sit in class and listen to a lecture. We had hands-on experiences and countless group projects that made learning more fun, but also more challenging. Aside from the amazing academics, Cleveland Early College helps students to grow, develop leadership skills, and become prepared for whatever comes next.
