Clear Lake High School Reviews
Rating 3.9 out of 5 425 reviews
It's a great school that offers an array of extra-curricular activities and has Steller teachers who actually care! I was lucky enough to have had the opportunity to attend Clear Lake High School and I have no regrets. I have made numerous friends at Clear Lake and formed great relationships with my teachers, especially my coaches in football as well as the orchestra directors, who are two of the most awesome men one would ever want to meet! I was able to continue my love of science at Clear Lkae, and I participated all four years there, in addition to nine years previously in k-5 and middle school. This school provided me with an excellent edge, a great academic environment where I thrived. The school also had a character program, which they held to a high standard. I give Clear Lake High School 5 stars rating!
Clear Lake may seem intimidating at first, however, the environment I've been surrounded by has been nothing short of positive and friendly. The many people I've met and created bonds have made everlasting relationships that I know will carry on forever in life. Secondly, the education I've received here has prepared me for the future such as college. I've noticed my motivation to learn and be the best version of myself to be embraced because of the staff and peers at Clear Lake High School. Additionally, opportunities that can expand a person's experience in various fields, such as politics or STEM, can be found at Clear Lake. There are numerous clubs that have added an immense amount of immersive experiences. I've joined the Hindu Club and became an Ambassador. Along with creating PowerPoints and leading meetings, I've educated myself on a new religion, expanding my perspective on how people approach their religions. Clear Lake is full of opportunities for every student.
Clear Lake High School is a four-star school with many opportunities for everyone, except for any student that may come from outside the country. The credit validation system is genuinely abysmal, CCISD designed a system that actively hinders foreign students' development. As per CCISD policy, none of my previous high school credits or accomplishments were transferred, so Clear Lake views me as a student with zero credits. I am meant to be a senior, but due to having no credits, I’ve been assigned as a freshman in all school systems, having no real academic record, I have no GPA or class rank. I have also had to complete extra AP and dual credit classes, in addition to "credit by exam" exams, in an effort to rack up the 22 credits needed for graduation in just one year. Lake’s a great school, and I really do love some of my classes, but if you’re coming from a foreign country, the best thing you can do for your family’s academics is to steer clear of CCISD.
