Pros: Academics, Extra-Curricular Activities, School Culture, Safety
Cons: Diversity (lack of)
The school has excellent academics and tons of AP courses. Opportunities for extra-curricular activities are boundless, and it's very easy to start your own club. The culture of the school is friendly, inviting, and homey. The school is very safe.
The only drawback is that it's very clearly a majority white school and there is lack of diversity in the staff. That being said, as a minority student, I did not feel unwelcome when I attended.
I would certainly consider raising a family here and sending my children to this school

I really think a great thing about my school is that there is a place for everyone. Regardless of if you have friends coming into high school, you will find your people. There are endless extracurriculars and clubs to participate in. However, I would really like to see the GPA system change at my school. Extracurriculars such as band and orchestra are 5.0s and AP classes and pre-AP are 6.0s. Some classes are even 4.0s and it heavily dissuades students from participating in the classes they are interested in. If all the classes were on the same scale I would have taken a business class and more art classes but because they weren't I had to take history and anatomy classes to keep my GPA high. The biggest thing my school or even the district could do is have all classes at the same school, allowing students to pick classes based purely on interest and not GPA.
Our school is exceptional! We're very very academic as well as have great athletics. We're a very diverse school and have about 1000000 handfuls of classes you can take that best interest you. We're in a great district and are blessed to have great funding so we're able to provide the students (me) with tools to succeed, for example, the district-issued laptop I'm writing this on at this moment. Our support counselors are also amazing and are accepting, calm, and inviting which allows the students to openly talk about their life and problems and creates very supportive staff and a place of good mental health!
