At first I was enjoying my school and my classes. As I started to continue my year I started to see the bad side of Clay Chalkville High. Some of the teachers really don't care about their students. They show favortism towards other children. Now the administration has made a rule about wearing IDs. Some children are not able to buy another one for $5 and if you don't have it you get suspended instead of detention or a warning . Also they charge you a $30 fee to get your schedule changed. Thats everytime you want to change it. I sometimes regret coming to Clay and should have stayed at Hoover!

Initially, I loved the value much of the staff placed on working hard to gain success and the rewards that come with it. However, this value has been declining with each year. There is not enough emphasis on the work necessary for dedicated students to go above and beyond, and as a result, many do not gain much from their tireless effort. Additionally, the school is always going to extremes to enforce rules that are unnecessary, such as insisting that teachers to escort their high school teachers to lunch, punishing students with silent lunch, and suspending nearly seventy students in a single day for not wearing an I.D. Overall, the school needs improvement.
Clay-Chalkville is always being talked about in a negative way, but I have enjoyed my 4 years at CCHS so much. Many memories made that I will cherish forever! I participated in the band program and I would recommend everybody to do band and get involved! Clay-Chalkville provides a good learning environment with a great faculty! The teachers will spend their prep period helping you understand something that might not be clear at first and that is what make CCHS great! Mr. Lee is a great guy and great administrator! The moto "Every Student, Everyday" is very relevant when talking about CCHS because it is a great school that provides many classes to help decide what you want to do after High School and really prepares students for real life situations! Go Cougars!
