Classical Academy High School Reviews
Rating 3.67 out of 5 236 reviews
It was academically challenging but the teachers are very good at helping! This school got me college ready, and provided me with a tight nit community of people who I can still contact for aid today. However, due to it's location, size, and other factors, the school is less than diverse. They value a classical education, which while is great for preparing one for the rigor of college, it neglects practical skills for life.
My experience at The Classical Academy High School has been excellent. TCA focuses on the entire student's mind, body, and spirit. The teachers and staff have invested in my education and the development of my person since kindergarten by challenging me to grow, providing a safe learning experience, and being consistent in their values. The best part of my experience has been the caring and devoted teachers. They continually serve their students and the school with their immense kindness and understanding. At times, the workload is overwhelming. I would like to see the no-phone policy change. I use my phone for academic purposes, such as note-taking, and this policy hinders my academic performance. Ultimately, The Classical Academy is a fantastic school that impacts students for the good.
I like the values and virtues that are instilled into the academics, sports, and extracurriculars at The Classical Academy. Students are challenged to think for themselves, and encouraged to look for truth, beauty and goodness in all learning aspects. Public speaking, discussions, and character are combined to build a foundation for knowledge. Their values of dignity and respect are reflected through teachers, administrators, and staff as students are not just seen as students but valued as human beings. A major theme that is instilled in students is that our responsibilities should be valued above our rights when serving people. These themes have allowed me to build a foundation for logic, rhetoric, and grammar and shown me how to respect others with different views. These virtues have invigorated my appreciation for thought diversity and recognization that freedom came with a cost, so we should honor the sacrifices that were made by men and women for our present freedoms.
