graduated from CA a few years ago, after being with the academy middle school and high school. CA is a decent school overall. Small classes, close relationships, pretty campus. But there were a few real problems in my experience. The first thing is that too much of the focus is on athletics, instead of academics. If you're shelling out 7 thousand a year, you probably want to see a greater emphasis on school. The second is that the school isn't diverse. There is very little diversity in terms of race, religion, or politics. I had one teacher (Tracy Burkhart) who always brought her right-wing politics into the classroom.

However, I also had other teachers I liked and respected. I have some fond memories growing up with classmates. But in terms of college prep, CA oversells itself. Sure, you have laptops, but there isn't a great range of classes.
The school environment doesn't encourage the sort of independence you need in college.

Clarksville Academy is a wonderful learning environment where there's a great balance of education, service, and fun. Although Clarksville Academy is a "private school" the institution gives students an insight on college, and the structure of college. The lunches were amazing, definitely not your typical school lunch. The spirit from students, alumni's, and parents really bring the school to life. My favorite thing about CA was the sports, the games were always hype and you could feel the spirit. I wish the seniors had more freedom in regards to classes, if there were half days for seniors based on earned credit that would be great.
My experience at Clarksville Academy has been shaky. This school's impression is that it cares more about its reputation and athletics than it academics. Every single class is considered "honors" even if the subject matter isn't "honors" and so therefore, there are no "normal" classes. Besides this, I do enjoy some parts of this school. My friends have been amazing and they have pushed me to where I am today. The family setting at Clarksville Academy is also very nice. I would, personally, enjoy a change in focus from athletics to academics. I would like for more AP classes as well as stricter punishments. Clarksville Academy enjoys collective punishment even though that is illegal under the 1949 Geneva Conventions. They will punish an entire grade and the grades to come for a few people's mistakes rather than just punishing the few that did something wrong. Of course, all of this is coming from a biased high school student so take this with a grain of salt as my humble opinion.
