Some of the teachers were great while you could tell others hated being there. Students were generally kind to one another and it was a decent learning environment.
good teachers. more academic than sporty. prepares you for college and gives you the proper resources needed for success.
The atmosphere of north is very good. It’s more focused on students, creativity, and learning than other schools in the district. The facilities themselves are a little old.
Staff is super friendly and extremely helpful. I was lucky enough to have teachers that cared about you and were understanding.
North is a very academically diverse school that allow for numerous science, math, history, and elective classes.
The school is average in my opinion. Some of the teachers are good and others are lazy. The art classes they offer are very diverse and they have a lot of options other classes. They have a lot of AP classes, IB classes, and also dual enrollment as well. The school culture compared to other schools is judgemental and the people are not fun. There is also not really any racial diversity. Most classes are majority white and some poc. They offer a lot of sports they are not particularly good at. The clubs they have are good however many of the clubs if you would like to join them are not made known. They do not usually post the classroom where the clubs are held or the dates to attend.
I think Clarkstown North needs to work on having a more diverse staff and there could be more clubs and extracurricular opportunities.
I loved everything about my experience at Clarkstown North. Great leadership, and great teachers. They have many clubs, activities and sports for everyone's interests.
It was an ok school! I moved there my sophomore year and I was nervous about what my schedule would look like but they were very accommodating and helped me feel as if I wasn't behind because many classes I had yet to take in my state kids in NY had already done it.
As an alum, I have seen CHSN change over time. However, even though the administration may be tough to deal with and the facilities are poor (I have personally seen numerous rats and cockroaches), there are many ways to get involved in clubs. The teachers are usually engaging with their material and supportive of students. I miss going to school here, and I do believe that it prepared me for college.
The location is great, it's very close to my house. The downside is the uncleanliness of the school. It's filled with roaches and bugs.
Overall, I'd say my high school experience has been pretty good. The teachers are great, and the academics are strong.
An amazing school with great teachers, students and friends. Keep it the way it is. It’s certainly not broken so why fix it.
Clarkstown North did a great job preparing me for college. The teachers are amazing and all the staff was very helpful. I made a lot of fantastic memories at Clarkstown North.
I would like to see the roaches problem solved. School here was great. No bullying, helpful classmates. Some teachers either were very strict or didn’t care at all.
I loved how ready I felt for college and how involved school guidance counselors are in college readiness. Students are better off here when it comes to preparedness. Only issue is that lunch periods are not mandatory therefore leading to students either having to lunch or eating every other day.
I would say that my education at North has been good and there a lot of great teachers who really care about their students and make class enjoyable. However, the school spirit at north is terrible and the administration doesn't care about improving it. There are also problems with led in the water and a cockroach infestation.
