It is an amazing school with wonderful teachers and faculty. The staff is especially helpful and are easy to talk to (even if you are an introvert). The college and career counselor (Ms. Summerville) is the best when it comes to assisting students in finding scholarships, writing/crafting resumes, and just a good person to talk to. Teachers like Ms. Sears, Mr. Alspaugh, Mr. Tylka, Mr. Burke, Ms. Roberson, Mr. Caretti, My Bassett, Ms. Redman, and countless more are all wonderful teachers who strive to get the best out of students by pushing and inspiring them. Even though the sports teams are not the best, the school's basketball, cross country, and soccer team (both boys and girls) are exceptional. The career pathways and the APPS program both provide students with a great opportunity to challenge themselves academically while enabling them to also have a social life. Also, the diversity and music program at this school is second to none.

I find that the students here tend to be well-prepared for college. The atmosphere is very academic-oriented and is focused on students. The school's diversity is something taken for granted and is something that makes Clarksburg special and distinguished. Not all of the teachers are committed to the students, however. Which is sad especially considering how much they are paid. My only other issue (which can be said for most any high school) is that the school is only concerned with college-bound students. Subjects have strong emphasis on white-collar work and overlook issues such as lack of financial literacy.
Clarksburg, known for its exceptional academics, student cultural diversity, inspiring teachers and vibrant school culture makes that early 6 am alarm all worth while. In my first 3 years, I have been involved in the athletics, the theater and arts, the service clubs, and the academic honor societies. Clarksburg is a place where anybody can explore their interests along with their dedicated peers and encouraging teachers. Our teachers and administration are always prepping us for success in our futures and help us to achieve our goals. The students are passionate and have achieved wonders, from high SAT scores to regional championships. My experience at Clarksburg has opened new opportunities for me to be a leader, to share what I love with others, and helped me prepare for my future. The one thing I'd change about this school is adding a study hall period and some more life skills classes. Other than that, there's nothing I'd change about this place!
