We adore the Clark School! Our son started in 6th grade and is continuing all through high school.
With individualized plans (yes, for real, not just on paper), small class sizes, and teachers who put their heart and soul into teaching (they're available for the kids to call/email after hours too!), this is the school I had always wanted to find for my son.
He has changed from being a not-so-happy-about-school kid to someone who looks forward to his classes and has shed his school anxiety.
All with none of the typical middle school drama! Can't recommend them highly enough!
Plus, I have to add that their approach to remote learning is beyond a 5-star rating. To say that they have gone above and beyond is an understatement.
The kids are engaged, the teachers are engaged, and school continued. No gaps, no drama, and only positive feedback from us.

I have always been a believer in public education. But when my daughter had a disastrous middle school experience, we knew we needed to look into private education for high school. Most private schools seemed to be either parochial, hyper competitive, or for special needs. It was hard to find a school for academically typical kids who were looking for a change. We were so relieved to finally find Clark School. The academics are solid, and there is a wonderful sense of community. The teachers are approachable, helpful, and understanding, and have been the largest part of my daughter’s success there. She was not allowed to slip through the cracks, and she learned how to manage her course load, be an advocate for herself, and shine. Clark School has been a “just right” fit for my daughter.
I'm very happy to go here. I learned so much more in a year here than I did in all my years before, both about myself and about the subjects I took this past year. Because it's such a small school, staff gets to know you incredibly well and that plays a huge advantage in you getting into the school and the place in your life that you desire - there are students who go to 4-year liberal arts colleges, visual and performing arts colleges both of which are strong programs at Clark, even MIT and WPI have happened for those inclined towards engineering. It's also interesting to me that you can be taught Physics by someone with a masters in Physics, not Education which is the default in public. Though, because it's so small, AP classes and sports cannot be produced for general consumption and instead need to be done independently. So while it's a bit trickier doing these things at Clark it's not impossible and if you show that these things are so important to you, it's a good look.
