Clark Montessori is one of few Montessori middle and high schools .It goes from 7-12th grade. I loved the school because of the sense of community that the students grow to overt heir years there. I loved the small class sizes, it allowed more help from teachers and improved my academics. I participated in three sports, the teams are not that large because of the number of students there but they do okay. The school preps students for college and practices for college admission tests. Some experiments that I left Clark with include a 8th grade trip to Andros island Bahamas and intercessions. Intercession are in fall and spring where you have experiences outside the classroom. Mandatory fall intercessions include career planning, college tours, and ,lifeskill. some choices for fall intercession include rockets and rollercoasters , farm school, Washington D.C, Underground railroad, Greece trip and more. I enjoyed my time at Clark Montessori and highly recommend it.
I like Clark Montessori because of how much real-world application it teaches us and gives us opportunities to involve ourselves in more than just school. The field studies and intersessions they provide give us great insight into the world and help us learn just more than the curriculum the district wants us to learn. On top of it being a smaller Montessori school, it's very diverse but also very personalized. It also gives you a great opportunity to have a good relationship with your peers and teachers.
As a senior I feel like sometimes Clark Montessori is misrepresented. This school is a very good place to create well-rounded individuals. It is very diverse, Montessori, heavily musical and artistic. This is also a great school for athletics, we just need more kids willing to support that notion. The experience here is life changing. You will have life-long friends and allies. The environment here never forgets to treat you with care, love, and understanding. Graduating in 2020 is a weird situation with the worldwide pandemic, but the teachers don’t stop caring about the students for one second. They know how to still acknowledge us and make us feel special. My friends and I can all agree that this is a place we will think about forever and are extremely grateful for our time here.
