The many outlets and opportunities provided by Citrus Valley has made my time spent here truly memorable. The wide array of student run clubs makes it easy to find a family of friends and feel accepted. The diversity of cultures and backgrounds here creates an atmosphere of acceptance; being yourself is not only tolerated but encouraged! In addition to a flat out lovely student body, the teachers here are the same. When I was going through a hard time, my teachers were compassionate and helped me navigate a way through. As a student I always found it comforting that there was a clear network in place to help students with problems concerning mental health, college, and just about anything. The school acted swiftly on and took seriously all threats of safety, racism, and harassment, creating a sense of security. The only negative aspect of my high school experience here would have to be the food. Somehow they managed to make pizza taste gross :p
My experience at Citrus Valley was very good! For the most part, teachers were easy to work with and access when students needed help. I also think they did a good job with the transition to online school. They helped constantly prepare students for college right when they began their freshman year. There was also many clubs and activities to participate in. I think the counselors could work on being easier to access, because once online school had started, it was hard for me to get my emails answered by my counselors.
I think that Citrus Valley High School overall facilitates a welcoming and diverse learning environment. They offer a wide range of classes and extracurriculars so that you can figure out and develop your interests, and theirs also many clubs that help to do the same thing. Most of the teachers genuinely care about students and I've had great experiences reaching out to teachers for extra help during office hours. Additionally, the campus itself is very straightforward and easy to get around. The campus is also always clean which makes it easy to like. The only problem I've ever experienced is how crowded the cafeteria/bistro gets at lunch, but there is plenty of quad space to compensate for that. In general, I've had a great expirience.
