I have one child in this school -- we transferred two years ago after being on the waitlist for two years. I can say it was totally worth the wait! It's got everything you would want from a private school without all the things you don't like about private school! The community, admin, teachers, diversity, and education are unmatched by any other school in Los Angeles. The socio-emotional curriculum is incredible -- it's the cure to the uptick in bullying, school shootings, and teen suicides. And the school differentiates so well in the classrooms becuase they're committed to having two teachers in every room. A solid 5 stars.

Our family is thrilled to be part of CWC-Silverlake community! We appreciate the attention given to the unique needs, experiences and qualities of each student. This provides an environment rich in motivation, kindness and learning. This school is probably the best fit for families looking for a diverse and friendly environment that uses social and emotional growth as more than just a component of academic development, but as its own valuable part of a strong education. We have found the teachers, parents and administrative staff to all be very caring and we like that environment is fairly relaxed though intentional. We have definitely observed academic progress for our child, but we are most delighted that her developing reading and math skills are accompanied by a growing confidence in who she is and a respect for the other students who come from a wide variety of economic and racial backgrounds.
Amazing parent group and administration/teachers. The social emotional approach has worked wonders for our children. The diversity and attention to detail, for a public institution, is also spectacular. The only complaint is the difficulty with being on three different campuses, but that is changing next year with the build of a brand new single campus! Hooray!
