CWC Mar Vista is a public school committed to socio-economic, cultural, and racial diversity. We provide a challenging, experiential learning environment to develop each student’s confidence, potential, and individual responsibility as true citizens of the world.

My oldest transferred here in 3rd grade right before the pandemic hit - we left UCLA Lab School and have really loved the teachers, staff and leadership of the school. The SEL curriculum and Cool Tools reminds me a lot of UCLA Lab's approach -but without the tuition. Last year my other son started kindergarten. He's young for his grade so we decided to repeat kinder and got full support of the faculty and staff to do this - they really listened to us and allowed us to lead what we knew was best for our child.
The Faculty is also very diverse which was important to us - we were looking for a school with strong BIPOC leadership and CWC is exactly that - amazing folks for my kids to look up to and aspire to be like - that look like them. One thing I wish there were more of, is the arts - but we are working on it - it's a community with so much room to create and imagine a future. We are so happy we found CWC and aren't going anywhere!

I love CWCs focus on social-emotional learning. The teachers and admins all recognize the importance of fostering students' emotional and social well-being as an essential component of their academic success. CWC has helped my children develop skills to manage emotions, build positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.
I love how CWC prioritizes the creation of a safe and welcoming environment where students feel valued and respected, and where they can express themselves freely without fear of judgment. They implement programs that teach students social skills, self-awareness, empathy, and emotional regulation, such as mindfulness practices, restorative justice circles, and peer mediation.
By promoting a supportive and inclusive school culture CWC helps students' emotional well-being and helps students feel more engaged, motivated, and confident in their abilities. The leadership from Principle Uriales down helps prevent and address issues such as bullying

We have two kids at CWC Mar Vista and they are thriving. Cwc puts an emphasis on their social emotional learning program which is woven into the curriculum throughout the day. Empathy, mindfulness, conflict resolution and growth mindset are given equal importance along with the common core academics. Building better citizens and future community leaders. Teachers we have experienced have been very competent, caring and fully invested in the school philosophy. Lessons and projects and thoughtful, intentional and relevant to real world issues that we are all facing. The principal for the past three years has done a great job of steady leadership for the school and we were very impressed how the whole school handled the pandemic and distance learning. We just enrolled out youngest child into the school without hesitation and we love the trajectory that our school and community are headed.
