Cibola is definitely a higher quality school in Yuma county, both academically and visually. It is always looking beautiful with well-maintained plants and brick buildings. The teachers are highly educated ones and are well committed to our learning. Something that could always be improven is the maintenance. The buildings start looking old after a bit, and if the stained pavement can be cleaned up, it'd look much nicer. The extracurricular part of this school is really neat too. I'm part of A.V.I.D. which is a college-readiness program run in many schools nationally. The club has meetings every two weeks, with 2 nice teachers who are willing to give up their time to help our cause. Much respect to the devoted teachers at our school!
Review Cibola High School
Cibola is an establishment that sets its students up for success in their future endeavors, whatever they may be, and prides their school off the academic excellence of its students. From first hand experience, I can testify that the athletic programs at this school are of high standing, as well as the academic curriculum. I hope in future years there are improvements regarding a more consistent bell schedule and the provision of a stronger staff in terms of the counselors and the science department.
What I like about Cibola is that there are certain teachers who can see you being in college and will help you achieve your goal of attending college. I do enjoy the culinary class and I am currently and vocational culinary student in our new culinary room. What I would like to see change is the school meals, we don't have the best school lunches and sometimes we eve question if we should be consuming this. Also there is the fact the school got rid of water bottles during lunch, now this may not seem like a big deal but this is a desert region, and as a student who has to walk home 1.2 miles everyday, since there is a "no bus unless you live 2 miles away" policy, that water bottle would keep me and other students hydrated. Now I simply could by a water bottle the exact same size for 50 cents or get a huge one for 75 cents if the lines weren't so long and if I had money.
