Although the school does not have all the bells and whistles, like smart boards, or a completely updated building, i know i am getting a great education. As a senior I am getting a great opportunity to lead and i wouldn't trade my experiences their for anything. I have been going there since Kindergarten, going through my 13th year now of what truly is a community school, my class of 13 students is more like family than friends and we each get a really personalized education. One of my favorite experiences is spirit week, it is a relatively new tradition, but leading up to work-a-thon, we have a week of dressing up and wearing weird stuff to match a theme everyday. Its really fun! There are so many things that make this school unique it hard to pick just one. My school is definitely a diamond in the rough, the building is old and not updated at all, but it is clean and safe and really easy to navigate! We are a private school so we do not get funding from the government. That means we are short on money most of the time. To try to compensate, we have one fundraiser every year, called Work-A-Thon, each student works hard to get donations from neighbors, friends, family or whoever to reach an all school goal of around 40,000 dollars. Then, in return, all the students go out into the community on work-a-thin day and they work for free for whoever needs the help: elderly people, disabled people, or just those who cannot do the work themselves for whatever reason. It is really great being able to give back to the community that way. These reasons and many others are why I love my school and would choose it again if I could do it all over again.

Honestly, he have doors that lock, a fire escape rout, a plan for lockdown, and the school is regularly cleaned. We don't have security guards or metal detectors or anything ridiculous like that. Those things are unnecessary. we don't have a nurse, we have an office with friendly receptionists who will give you bandaids or medicine if you need it, and while you're there you can have animal crackers too! (I'm serious, it's a real perk). We do have a clinic that has a cot in it for students who may feel sick throughout the day and need to lie down, if it's early enough they can call their parents and go home. Concerning bullying, if the staff or administration gets wind of bullying that is happening, immediate action is taken against it and seniors as leaders are encouraged to come up beside those being bullied and befriend them and to mentor the bully in the situation.
Christian Community School is a community of Christian believers who strive to further themselves both academically and spiritually in their walk with God. Each teacher truly cares about each student and their future--academically and spiritually.

CCS has fundraisers each year to keep tuition low, fund two school social dances, and pay for sports related costs.

Personally, my favorite characteristic about CCS, is that each student has the chance to form relationships with other students of all ages-from kindergarten to twelfth grade. Through tasks such as helping with recess, helping a teacher in a classroom, or leading a care group to younger students, all CCS students are given the chance to reach out to those around them.
