The teachers at Chireno High School come from humble beginnings, and usually had the same small-town high school experience as the students they teach. This helps with the connection students have with their teachers. Though the teachers are still in charge, it is easier for their students to approach them without fear of judgment because of how open and friendly they are.

Like most schools, Chireno has some teachers who go above and beyond in reaching out to their students and teaching the joy of learning. But there are also a few who are not as well equipped to teach today's students...so it lowers the overall grade of the school. I have been fortunate to have had some of the best for my high school experience.
Being able to work on UIL literary events, having fantastic drama experiences, and taking college-level courses have been some of the best highlights of my Chireno small-school journey.
