I personally like Chippewa. The after school activities are fun and I think the school is fun to be at during those times. Most teachers are great and accepting of all races at school. The actual school day is pretty average like any school but what I think the school needs to work on more so is actually looking after their students and their mental health. I also believe the school is not very good about trying to make people work together and encouraging friends to be made. That has always been something I have struggled with but even harder when nobody is trying to encourage it, including the adults at the school. 😐
Starting with positives, I will say I received a great education at this school/district and had some positive and supportive experiences with some teachers and staff.
On the other hand, there needs to be major diversity training at this school. While I felt safe from crime at the school, I did not feel safe being one of the minorities in most of my classes where I often had to hear microaggressions and experience often covert racism from some students, staff, and teachers. It was tough for my mental health going to this school on top of being a teenager which already comes with its hardships. It was a very isolating experience being a person of color in a very white, rich, and preppy school. My advice to other people of color families, save your kids the trauma of letting them attend this school. It is important for kids to feel understood, nurtured, and cared for in order to proper emotionally and academically.

They need to have a multicultural liaison ,support groups and resources . our world is rapidly changing. we need to be prepared educationally as well as socially. Diversity training is much need in the suburbian school district. The staff and students need help in accepting people who are different in from social and economical backgrounds. It can be less of a negative reaction when they have to encounter other cultures.
