My time at Chilton county was a time I'll never forget. The teachers truly cared about their students and always wanted the best for us. The administration, principles, cared for our best interest and they took pride in us. The faculty supported us in our academics, athletics, and even the clubs. They came to watch the sporting events in any weather condition and tried to watch as many theatre productions as possible. I loved the family feeling between each class and the friendly competitions at homecoming. One thing that I wish improvement upon is just the inclusion of the female led sports, volleyball, soccer, basketball, etc.. The support is there but it is not as prominent as it is for the baseball team, for example. The equipment and/or uniforms are not as "To the T" as the male sports. This problem is a completely easy fix that may take some time but Chilton County can succeed at this. I believe in them.
Once you go there, you'll never go back in my opinion. many of the students are legacy students because their parents have also gone to this school along with my mother and I. With all of the legacy, newcomers are also welcome to the tiger family and no person should feel left out with all of the new clubs that they have. My personal favorite this year was to see the Art Club's mural in the lunchroom and added color to daily eating. Although I was Vice President for the Science Club and President of FBLA at our school, there are also many leadership options along with the help of Upward Bound. The program gets students from high schools in our district along with neighboring Shelby County and Bibb County to help students that are not able to afford college to have a shot to make a career. If college is not for you, then The Lecroy Tech school is for you to learn a trade only available for students in our district. not sure if they still have options available for others but feel free!
My experience at Chilton County High School was a great one. The teachers and administration are so helpful and involved with all aspects of each student there. I was a student athlete for 4 years and it taught me so much more about becoming a productive adult and how to work as a team player. The coaching staff are very involved with every area of an athletes time there as a student as well as building character for the future. There are so many outlets for every student at Chilton County High some include band, Student Government Association, Blast from the Past and various other amazing things for anyone who wants to be involved in a organization. I will always cherish my time there.
Chilton County High School was a great school. Over my four years I was pushed to excellence by the most outstanding teachers. I have gained confidence in myself and studies. I am grateful for the many memories I will take with me on this new journey.
My experience at Chilton County High School has been an overall great one. I have found my passion through extra ciricular activities that my school offers, made many relationships that I am forever thankful for, and have gotten many great opportunities through many outlets such as extra ciriculars and the courses I’ve had the privilege of taking. One thing I would like to see change about my high school is the teachers care and relationships with the students.
My time at Chilton County High School has not been the best. The schools failure to see the struggles that students experience, such as bullying, and mental illness, is too high. The school is ran by people who are only in control because of old money, not only that but as soon as we change administration, they start to make drastic changes that helps no one but themselves.
Chilton County High School was a good school for the average student. There are many activities for the students to stay involved with. However, some of the classes are not challenging to most students and this does not prepare the students for college. There is several teachers that pour into the students and help them succeed in all areas of there lives.
I like everything, it isn’t much I would change. School is safe and clean we feel safe. It needs a lot of remodeling as it is a older school. It needs more funding for different activities and clubs. I feel like through hard work and dedication by the administrative staff the school is going in a positive direction l.
I would not change my 4 years at CCHS for anything. They weren’t perfect but the people and things that happened in them shaped me to be who I am today.I love the support I get from everyone, the students, faculty and staff, and administration push me to be the best I can be. There are so many things, so many different kinds of people who make up CCHS and that is why CCHS is the school it is. For the past two years especially, I have seen a dramatic change in student involvement which is what the school needed. CCHS has been on the uprise and it’s only up further from here.
Staff is supportive and Administration celebrates the success of students. There is a focus on the positive as oppose to negative.
This school introduced me to many great opportunities. They offer a variety of AP classes and after school organizations; there is something for everyone. Since coming to this school, I've had the opportunity to be in classes pertaining to my career choice and had loads of help with college and life concerns.
At my time at Chilton County High School, I have become immensely prepared for college. The courses provided helped me with my future degree as I continue into my college career. The faculty and teachers are very resourceful and have helped me to do my best possible. Also, through our school offering dual enrollment, I have had the opportunity to begin taking my college courses while still in high school. Chilton County High School takes pride in its students and wants to see them achieve. Clubs and recognitions such as the A/B letter club which awards student's with A and B averages in their courses and the 25/30 club, which is a recent addition to our school. The 25/30 club recognizes students who have achieved a 25 or higher and a 30 or higher on their ACT. Overall, Chilton County High School has helped prepare me for any future endeavors after high school, and I am very grateful and pleased with the education and opportunities I have received.
I love how everyone knows everyone. I know that most people don't really like that in a small town, but it makes it to where you can have an intimate connection with your class and school and really know your peers.
CCHS really is not a terrible school, but it definitely is not a great one. Academically, it is average and maybe slightly below, but it has a great sense of community. The teachers care about the students and do the best with the resources they have. I think it is a relatively typical rural school.
I liked the spirit of the school overall. Sure, it has its teachers who seem to always be having a bad day but it isn’t really as bad as everyone makes it out to be. It seems pretty fair punishment to all of the students by the principal and vice principals, but the teachers do tend to pick favorites. Also, the science labs need severe remodeling. This would make it a much better smelling and more usable department for both the teacher and the students.
It is a good high school for the area and helps prepare you for college by offering Advanced Placement classes.
I guess like with most things some aspects are better than others. If all my teachers were as great as some I could rate Chilton County High School with a five star review but sadly that is not the case. So ole CCHS gets a three star rating from me because even some of its most incredible teacher, student, and staff can not make up for its less impressive qualities like the lack of quality and obvious favoritism.
