Chief Sealth has a lot of potential. The school offers things like the International Bachelorette program, which is similar to AP classes, TRIO, CAN, College Bound, Upward Bound, lots of clubs, language classes, an amazing music program, and neighborhood healthcare (which is important for low-income students.

A lot of the students at Chief Sealth come from economically disadvantaged families, including myself. We are given so many resources to help us prepare to move up the socioeconomic scale, but there is no ambition from a lot of the students.

Lastly, the teachers at this school. For the most part, the teachers are pretty good. They are willing to work with students to get through adversities and to provide the support necessary. I will say that I have had a few experiences with really passive-aggressive teachers, but in the end they still had love for the students. There were a few teachers that I absolutely disliked, but I won't name names.

Chief Sealth has a few strong programs, but when compared with other schools in the Seattle Public School district, it definitely does not stand out. Chief Sealth offers IB classes, which some students excel in, but at this point so many classes have been cut and there is such little variety that many students opt for Running Start. We have very small sports teams despite a reasonably large student population. Music programs are a lot of fun but not serious, with few students taking outside lessons. We have a basically non-existent drama program. ASB and school events are fine. Very good international focus and mock trial program.
I liked how the school was diverse in its student body and how open it was to forming new clubs. The teachers I had were kind and made me feel supported. I liked that there was an area to hang out within walking distance of the school. I was pleased with the programs they had to further education and challenge students such as I.B, Running Start, Upward Bound, and Study Abroad.

I noticed in my senior year that the library had puzzles, coloring sheets and a chess board on some of its tables. I saw students relax as they did a puzzle or color. I think that this should be continued and expanded on because I think the library was one of the few places where students feel safe to unwind and can have time to themselves. I also think that the music and arts need more funding.
