Chicopee Comprehensive High School is overall a great school. It is always clean and decorated with school spirit and it is to motivate us throughout the day. The teachers are wonderful and they are understanding. They push us to achieve high and to work hard. The teachers take pride in their work and try to make learning fun. When we don't understand something usually they can find a new way of teaching it so that we can comprehend it better. I like how the school is more focused on teaching the students the concepts rather than focusing on the State Tests. Instead, they prepare us to do great on our regular class tests, quizzes, and assignments. I would have to say Chicopee Comp is the most beneficial school I have attended, where I have actually communicated with my peers and my teachers, and I have actually learned something! Chicopee Comprehensive High School is a fabulous school, there are some quirks but every school somewhere has its own quirks too.
CCHS is a pretty decent and pretty spacious high school. The staff is friendly. They offer this CTE program (Career and Technical Education) where you can explore various career fields and choose one that interests you the most! I recommend the program to those who aren't sure on what career they would like to take in the future, but apply to it early as you can before you finish middle school. I JUST barely got accepted and I have no regrets going there. I don't know if they changed the application process as I graduated but I believe you can apply as a freshman there too, but don't take my word for it. I chose Drafting in that program and I enjoyed this career field to the point of carrying those similar studies to my college education at STCC then to UMass Amherst. I had a very helpful guidance counselor, so please be in good contact with them too so you can progress through your high school years as smoothly as possible!
Online learning was the toughest thing about high school. Since it was new to everyone I don’t blame how the school has done it at all, it was hard on everyone. One thing that is an issues are bathrooms. They’re locked them, switching in between classes and only one student is allowed to go in at a time; even though they’re 3 open. Understand there were many reasons for them to do this , locking the bathrooms. But it’s hard to adjust, especially for kids who really need to use the bathroom but can’t. It’s also a mess of no how teachers also complain about it as they now have to watch the bathrooms.
