Chicago Virtual Charter School has a special place in my heart. The school particularly gives me energy, hope, and inspiration that despite its numerous experiences with lack of students learning, we persevere as a community to keep our school open. I spend my time here enhancing my writing skills and building a magazine for the whole high school level, and I take advantage of the science classroom to prepare myself with my major which is Biology! It is wonderful this homeschooling program. For me, I get to see the many faces of my friends, they define the word emerging as they support other people that makes us strong, resilient through tough moments as we leave and graduate. Our stories, my story is shaped by this school, they exemplify role models in the future to look up to.

I've been going to this school since 6th grade, i am now a senior in high school and its been a rocky road. The school has constant staff replacements and principle replacements which makes it hard to understand how the school will be run each year. I like that its online and part time in a building that way i can be more sociable, but those day that we are in a building for school it can be very disorganized with teachers and assignments.
It is a very welcoming place that truly allows everyone to be their self. The school offers great opportunities and gives us an amazing staff to teach us and guide us through high school. I always felt safe there, was getting an amazing education, and learned so much about myself and the real world too. It was a place that made everyone feel at home and prepared me for college.
