COVID-19 Update for Prospective Students and Families:

Our spacious campus affords our community the space and resources to meet or exceed all CDC safety guidelines, therefore Cheverus welcomed all students on campus every day for in-person learning. We conduct health screenings, maintain social distancing, wear masks on campus, and have increased disinfection. We also offer a virtual learning option for students who prefer to learn from home. Over the last four years, I watched, sometimes with hesitation, Cheverus evolve under a new administration. This had it is ups and downs, as expected. Some programs were discontinued, beloved teachers left, and new customs took some time getting used to.

In spite of the changes, my time at Cheverus still included its promises: a rigorous curriculum, a tight-knit community, and a socially conscious, mission-based education.

During my last few months of high school, I saw Cheverus change one more time: a pandemic struck, and school went virtual. In its emergency, remote format, Cheverus did an amazing job replicating the education I knew and expected.

As the 2020-21 school year will challenge everyone to rethink our purpose, I strongly recommend Cheverus. This school has a higher calling, and it won't stop a pandemic from altering that. Cheverus's mission is meant for times like these -- to form people for and with others, people who bring compassion to catastrophe.

Cheverus cares for the whole student. The encouragement and support our daughter, a current freshman, receives from her teachers, coaches, the school staff, her classmates as well as the older students is above and beyond. From academics, to athletics and clubs, to social-emotional needs, the nature of Cheverus is all about caring for the student. I feel confident that my daughter's success and happiness is very important to the teachers and staff at Cheverus.
I loved Cheverus. While some of the schools around the Portland area are rated just fine, Cheverus is totally worth the price of tuition, and the return on investment you get is arguably better than college, at least it was for me. The faculty is incredible and the students look out for one another. In contrast to some of the local public schools, Cheverus has more of an old school approach, combined with Jesuit values, which you won't get elsewhere. Kids of all faiths are still welcome and made at home. The athletic programs build teams with very good chemistry and coaching which allows them to compete at a high-level. There are plenty of extra-curricular programs and they prep kids very well for college. I could not recommend it more strongly.
