Chesterton High School provided me with an extremely gratifying experience as a transfer student. Like many other schools the student body was distributed, but overall I feel that Chesterton allowed me to embrace being a new student and use it as an opportunity rather than feeling anxious. Academically, Chesterton was exceptional with college preparation, specifically in my field. Their STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) departments were phenomenal in preparing students for standardized testing and college workloads. There were a variety of college-level courses available which students could take at their own discretion and capabilities, and potentially receive college credit for them. Overall, I attribute most of my success during the first two years of college to Chesterton High School by helping me develop a strong work ethic, advanced communication skills, and proficient problem-solving skills.

I loved the overall experience with Chesterton high school, but every school has its flaws. The teachers and facilities for the most part were the best in my opinion, they always wanted to help out in any way they can no matter who the student was. They also added many brand new machines along with bench and squat racks, being the athlete I am this was hitting the jackpot. A few downsides or flaws would be that the culture and diversity is slim to none, along with the parental involvement. When I look back at the school my parents were almost never involved with anything I did, which for some reason seemed wrong for my freshman and some of my sophomore year. With this said I believe that with the consideration of schools that surround Chesterton, Chesterton seems the best for opportunity and safety along with several other factors. The most comparable school near Chesterton if you are still unsure would be Valparaiso High School.
My experience was overall very good. I had a lot of medical issues my freshman year and the school accommodated to my needs in an amazing way! If there was anything else I could ask for, it would be a diversity in teaching styles. I am a very hearing oriented person and enjoy lectures. I was really never exposed to this and would have liked to see more.
