CMIT was the best school ever! So many memories and so many connections grew from this school. Unfortunately, there are teachers that would want to put a bump in the road however, there are others that want to see you grow and fly. This school, however, used to be for students that loved educating themselves and joining after-school clubs such as robotics or sports. Now, all I hear from my brother, whom currently attends CMIT, is that kids skip regularly and are seen smoking in bathrooms, in general just a bad crowd in the school which is horrific for me to hear seeing as during my time there, it was just getting along with friends who had similar likings to you and the "bad students" were kept to a minimum or at least put in place.
At Chesapeake Math & IT Academy all students have access to free saturday tutoring and study halls to help enhance the grades of their students. The teachers are amazing and exercise the values of respectful, responsible, and coming to classes prepared and ready to learn!
This school is great...only if you have a smart kid. The teachers and staff will give extra attention to the bright kids and let them shine, whilst not helping students that are struggling. Some teachers want to see students succeed and will go the extra length to be there for them, but most are just showing up to get their salary. Only kids who love math and science and base all their extracurriculars/hobbies around them will probably thrive at this school. As for athletics, school spirit, field trips, theater and the arts etc, there is not much there to comment on. During my time here, I had a few great teachers that really shaped who I was and a good group of friends however I missed out on a lot of the typical highschool experience.
