The school is smaller which allows education to be tailored more for individuals . For example, I was given the opportunity to take a high school math class after showing some aptitude for math

The work is very easy, and there isn't much homework. The students are not really challenged, but rather learn the bare minimum that is necessary before high school.
There are plenty of opportunities for students to get involved if they want to, and the teachers are careful to ensure that all students feel like they are contributing.
