Cherry Hill East High School is undoubtedly rigorous in academics. What I love, regarding the academics, is how well the school prepares you for college. I take multiple AP and Honors courses, and the amount of work and effort I have to put it in each night to obtain a high grade in each class is sometimes almost unbearable, but the alumni I know comment that their first year of college is more comfortable than their senior year of high school. As a current senior, most of the teachers that I had were enthusiastic to teach the students; however, there are some who are not quite so eager to be in the classroom.
There are numerous clubs. The quality of the clubs is phenomenal! Many of them are built for competition, such as the debate club, science olympiad, robotics, and many more. In general, whatever peeks a student's interests, he or she can find a club suited just for them.

Over the past four years at East, I have embarked upon many journeys, from traveling home to Ithaca with Odysseus to learning about the psychology of dreams. My classes, although very rigorous (and sleep-depriving) have been extremely fulfilling and have prepared me to advance into greater academic pursuits. I truly believe that East has shaped me into a more understanding, well-rounded, and compassionate person. However, the school environment at times can feel very hostile and cliquey. While there are a wide variety of activities and clubs, which is great, this can lead to the formation of "social bubbles" and limited interaction beyond those groups. Some of the teachers are extremely intelligent, thoughtful, and genuinely care about their students. Others, however, see student as grades on a paper rather than people.
Overall, my experience is intertwined with moments both light and dark; but with hope, resilience, and a love for learning, any student can blossom at East.
Cherry Hill High School East works to cultivate student growth in order to prepare their students for college. In an effort to get students involved, Cherry Hill High School East promotes a wide variety of activities and allows students to receive help from teachers and peers in order roe ensure academic excellence. The staff holds the safety of the students in high regard and makes the school feel like a second home for many. The science, math, English, and art departments challenge students and inspires them to test their capabilities both as students and as members of the community. It’s not difficult to see why East is one of the greatest schools in the district.
