I have been at Chelsea High School for 4 years now. I have had the opportunity to be in clubs, play a sport and take challenging classes. The faculty at CHHS has been very attentive and really do care about the well being and success of every student. There is a drive for success at the high school. Whether that success be in sports or academics, hard work is extremely necessary and is expected.

The community is the BEST part of Chelsea! Parent involvement on overall goodness towards neighbors is absolutely amazing!
My experience at Chelsea has been positive and I feel like I am ready for college based on the support I have been given here CHHS! It's a GREAT DAY to be a Hornet!

Much needed facilities upgrades and maintenance but all money from the city is poured into elementary grades. They could at least pay maintenance to pick up trash on the grounds and weed-eat the fences to improve the appearance but both the middle and high schools suffer from neglect and give students/faculty a ho-hum attitude towards respecting the school. Teachers all tenured so they can do whatever they want. Money from parents is requested too frequently, and no help is available for struggling families toward sports or other activities. Parental involvement is discouraged. Few extracurricular choices. Sports all run by "sponsors", not real coaches with experience. Overcrowded classrooms compensated by mobile trailers instead of just building a new school to supply the huge increase in student population. Poor school board decision making.
The administration claims they care about the students, but are more concerned with trying to smooth over serious problems, or have a “wait and see” attitude. The admin won’t take necessary actions when it comes to serious complaints about teachers. There is no follow-up, with parents OR students, which leads to everyone feeling as though their opinions and accounts of teacher offenses don’t matter.

One teacher was FINALLY fired after numerous reports from concerned parents, and students who suffered while at the mercy of the “sponsor” who was actually fresh out of college, and behaved as a bratty high school girl. Good job for getting rid of her before she did further damage to the program she “sponsored”.
