The school is great! It allows students to pursue art, has good teachers, and an amazing college advisor for the seniors. The school is diverse in a number of ways: race, gender, economic backgrounds, and sexuality. (Although the school is very white.)
CCA could do more for the LGBT+ students, though. The school does little to help cultivate a safe space and has even repeatedly denied the formation of a student-run Gay-Straight Alliance. Regardless, I'd recommend students who seek acceptance and safe spaces to come here, as it is far better than the surrounding public schools in that area.
CCA has such a high graduation rate due to kicking seniors out their last semester if they are not set to graduate.
Also, the principal, even with all her flaws, genuinely cares about the students and wants them to succeed.

Researching the Center for Creative Arts was one of the best things my mom could have done! As a singer and actor, this school was the perfect fit for me. It is a performing arts high school, but academics was just as important. Juggling school work and performances was a challenge, but it better prepared me for college.
It's been great being at CCA. Everyone is very accepting of each other and all our differences. Bullying, fighting, partying, and drug abuse is extremely rare. The arts are central to who we are and it's amazing to experience your friend's arts, passions, and learn and grow together. While their are always things to improve upon, such as certain teachers and their methods and demeanors, particular academic classes not preparing us, and the fact that the administration doesn't really understand us; the school has been like an oasis for me. I probably wouldn't be who I am without coming to this school. Especially since I'm about to graduate and have been here since sixth grade. I have the best life-long friends with me here.
