Chatham Hall is an absolutely wonderful school. The friends I made during my time there remain my closest friends today. Overall, I felt overly prepared for college because of Chatham Hall in the best way possible. The work there is rigorous, yet I would never trade it for how well it prepared me for University. The close relationships you established with the faculty hold true well after your time at Chatham Hall, even receiving a birthday card every year from your advisor. I cannot applaud this school enough, it truly is one of a kind.

While it doesn't have the 'name brand' of other well known boarding schools, its intimate, scholarly environment allows for what I experienced as a superb education. There is plenty of academic rigor for those who seek it out. By far the best asset Chatham Hall has is its teachers- when I was a student there, I was impresssed (and often perplexed!) by how many truly high quality and passionate teachers, many with doctorates, the school was able to lure to rural Virginia. They must understand as the students do that the seclusion makes for a wonderful academic environment.
Chatham Hall fosters a close knit community for students seeking out a personalized education. Class sizes are small, allowing more opportunity to interact with the faculty, as well as classmates. My favorite thing about Chatham Hall is how I have been preparing for college since I stepped on campus. Without pressuring me, my teachers, counselors, and advisors always made it very clear that I should be thinking about the big picture when making decisions about classes and extracurricular activities. Thanks to all of the adults at school, I went into the college process feeling confident and practically stress free.
